Nvidia and ChipAgents reportedly have started an evaluation involving AI technology for chip design. The companies' public materials reviewed for this article do not confirm the new evaluation or establish its scope.

ChipAgents announced an expanded Nvidia collaboration on July 26 focused on Renoir, its specialized AI model and supporting agent software. The company said it uses Nvidia technology to train and optimize the system for semiconductor engineering.

ChipAgents says its approach addresses two obstacles: limited access to proprietary engineering data and the need to protect confidential chip designs. Its stated development plans include improving Renoir's performance and efficiency, but the reported evaluation's schedule and results remain unconfirmed.
