European cities test and deploy Nvidia AI for buildings and public services
Nvidia detailed European municipal AI projects spanning building management, public services and port safety, with some systems operating and others in testing.

Nvidia outlined European projects using AI agents and digital models to support municipal operations. The initiatives range from operating building-management systems to trials for transport and port safety.
In France’s Côte-d’Or, Akila and ThinkDeep built a system covering more than 500 public buildings. Nvidia said it reduced operating costs by 10%, with 30% remaining a target for broader deployment. In Italy, Galene.AI, Dell Technologies and TD Synnex are deploying local AI infrastructure in Cinisello Balsamo for services including translation and municipal chatbots.
The projects combine local computing with tools for interpreting video, analyzing information and simulating physical spaces. Nvidia said this approach allows municipalities to retain control over their information and AI systems. At Antwerp-Bruges, port applications such as oil-spill alerts remain in testing.
The Italian deployment is planned to reach four more municipalities. Nvidia and its partners will also showcase their city technologies at Barcelona’s Smart City Expo World Congress on November 3 through 5.
