Basecamp plugin brings project context into ChatGPT

Basecamp is available through a ChatGPT plugin that connects project information to the AI assistant. OpenAI describes uses including answering questions about tasks and summarizing discussions from Basecamp.

The integration can help identify overdue assignments, review recent activity and prepare project summaries. OpenAI also describes using the connection to assemble meeting preparation material and extract decisions from lengthy discussions.

Basecamp positions its AI connections as a way to work with existing project information through an assistant. The company says an assistant’s access remains limited to information the connected user can already view.

Using the plugin requires completing the relevant connection and authorization steps. OpenAI says availability depends on factors including the account’s plan and workspace settings, and installing a plugin does not override access restrictions.
