OpenAI expands ChatGPT ads to 26 more countries
ChatGPT advertising is expanding to 89 countries, and OpenAI says more than 100,000 advertisers have run campaigns since its launch.
OpenAI announced on October 21 that ChatGPT advertising is expanding into 26 additional countries, bringing availability to 89. The company said more than 100,000 advertisers have run campaigns since the service launched just over eight months ago.
The expansion includes 14 Latin American countries, with Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru among them. Other additions include Nigeria, South Africa, Ukraine, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Businesses can buy advertising through technology partners or use Ads Manager themselves.
OpenAI said advertising helps fund free and lower-cost access to ChatGPT. Ads appear on Free and Go accounts, while Plus, Pro and Enterprise subscriptions remain without advertising. The company said advertisers cannot access private conversations and paid placements do not shape ChatGPT's responses.
OpenAI plans to develop more advertising formats, campaign objectives, purchasing options and measurement tools. It is also exploring additional ways for businesses to interact with consumers inside ChatGPT..
