A federal judge reportedly dismissed Annie Altman's sexual abuse lawsuit against her brother, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, on October 20. The dismissal followed her refusal to attend an independent medical examination despite warnings about the consequences. Sam Altman has denied the allegations.

Annie Altman filed the civil case in federal court in St. Louis in January 2025. She alleged that her brother sexually abused her between 1997 and 2006 at their childhood home in Clayton, Missouri. The reported basis for Judge Zachary Bluestone's latest decision was her failure to attend the examination, rather than a determination that the alleged abuse occurred.

The case had already faced a separate ruling over filing deadlines. In March, Bluestone dismissed her common-law claims but allowed her to amend the complaint. The October dismissal marks a later procedural development; the reviewed material does not establish whether she will appeal.
