Nvidia's data center guarantees and commitments total $164.5 billion
Nvidia's disclosures show $164.5 billion in commitments and guarantees supporting AI infrastructure, including an Ohio campus for OpenAI.
Nvidia has disclosed financial commitments and guarantees totaling $164.5 billion to support AI data centers. The figure combines several arrangements with different conditions, rather than representing cash already spent.
The largest component is a guarantee capped at $105 billion for an Ohio development serving OpenAI. Other components include $36 billion in cloud agreements, $20 billion in future leases intended for third parties and $3.5 billion in guarantees covering cloud partners' lease obligations.
Nvidia announced the Ohio partnership with SB Energy on August 17. SB Energy will develop and operate the PORTS-Pike campus, with OpenAI renting it for 20 years. The arrangement secures a site for Nvidia computing infrastructure while extending the chipmaker's role into financial support for construction.
The Ohio guarantees generally take effect as individual leases begin across nine construction phases. Nvidia expects the first phase in fiscal 2029 and says these financial arrangements depend on customer and partner performance.
