Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang opened his October 21 keynote in Berlin by calling for Europe to develop more of its own AI production capacity. He pointed to the company's work with European businesses across finance, manufacturing and consumer products.

Nvidia said it had committed nearly $10 billion to Europe's technology ecosystem and was working with more than 12,000 partners. Huang named companies including Spotify, Porsche and HSBC as examples of its European AI relationships. The keynote followed visits to Paris, London, Stockholm and Dublin.

Huang described AI development as dependent on connected investments in energy, computing infrastructure, models and applications. His argument was that Europe should produce AI capabilities as well as use them.

GTC Berlin continues through October 22, with conference activities at STATION-Berlin following the Tempodrom keynote. The program includes more than 100 sessions covering subjects such as robotics, open models and AI agents.
