Nscale and Anthropic reportedly discuss another $45 billion compute agreement
Anthropic reportedly is negotiating another roughly $45 billion agreement with Nscale for AI computing capacity in West Virginia.
Anthropic reportedly is negotiating a new computing agreement with Nscale that could total roughly $45 billion. People familiar with the discussions say the proposed arrangement concerns another building at Nscale's Monarch campus in West Virginia.
The second building reportedly would provide 460 megawatts of capacity and use Nvidia's Vera Rubin chips. Anthropic is also said to hold a right of first refusal covering a planned third building at Monarch. Those details remain unconfirmed by the companies.
The discussions follow an earlier arrangement between the companies for computing infrastructure at the same campus. That agreement was valued at approximately $45 billion, making the latest negotiations a potential expansion of an existing relationship.
The negotiations are reportedly continuing, and the proposed terms could change. A completed second agreement has not been publicly confirmed, so its reported value and capacity remain provisional.
