Amp expands AI agent work into writing, design and voice control
Amp is using OpenAI models for work beyond programming, with voice-controlled agents, ChatGPT sign-in and tests of faster processing.
Amp is expanding its AI agents into product planning, documentation, design and marketing. In an October 14 company account, CEO Quinn Slack described how OpenAI models support those tasks alongside programming. Amp's 20-person team already uses agents for marketing and improving the experience of new users.
Its Puck assistant can start other agents, coordinate their tasks and retrieve earlier technical conversations. Calling Puck uses GPT-Live-1 for live voice interactions, including through a watch. Amp also offers Sign in with ChatGPT, which Slack said gives users additional model access and usage capacity, including GPT-6 Astra.
Slack said usage costs can discourage people from assigning larger jobs to agents. Amp is testing GPT-6 Astra with Ultrafast processing as it works to reduce waiting time. The company's stated next step is to handle more tasks surrounding software development, from deciding what to build to supporting a product after release.
