Perplexity adds Ultrafast Astra and SOL 6.1 options for Max subscribers
Perplexity Max subscribers can now select Ultrafast versions of GPT-6 Astra and SOL 6.1 in Computer.

Perplexity has enabled Ultrafast options for GPT-6 Astra and SOL 6.1 in Computer for Max subscribers. The company said faster token generation helps lengthy Computer tasks finish sooner.
The options are available through Computer's Custom model settings. Subscribers select Astra or SOL 6.1, then choose Ultrafast as the speed setting. Perplexity's announcement did not give a numerical speed improvement or a completion-time benchmark.
The rollout adds a speed choice for subscribers running longer tasks with either model. Aravind Srinivas also cautioned that the faster option can consume credits quickly, though his accompanying message did not specify a credit multiplier.
