Anthropic reportedly targets November IPO as financing needs draw scrutiny
Anthropic is reportedly preparing for a November stock offering, while its computing commitments and proposed public benefit fund attract attention.
Anthropic is reportedly preparing to go public as early as November. That timing remains unconfirmed, leaving uncertainty over whether the Claude developer will complete an offering before the end of 2026.
The company announced a confidential IPO filing in June, without disclosing the offering's size or terms. It had raised $65 billion in May at a valuation of $965 billion.
Financing demands are a central issue as Anthropic expands its computing capacity. Its commitments could reportedly reach $750 billion over the coming years, based on information attributed to a draft prospectus. That figure has not been confirmed by the company in the announcements reviewed.
Separately, Anthropic said on October 18 that it plans to allocate 5% of its shares to a public benefit fund, subject to shareholder approval. The company said it will provide further information about the fund's governance and structure in the coming months. That announcement did not establish an IPO date.
