Anthropic reportedly presents $16.8 billion quarterly revenue ahead of IPO

Anthropic reportedly presented new financial figures to prospective investors at an October 14 meeting in San Francisco. People who attended say the Claude developer disclosed third-quarter revenue of $16.8 billion, about 45% above the previous quarter.

The reported figures compare with revenue of $11.6 billion in the second quarter and $4.7 billion in the first. Attendees also said Anthropic described the third quarter as profitable after adjustments. That description does not establish an unadjusted net profit, and the figures remain disclosures described by meeting participants.

Anthropic has previously confirmed rapid growth in a different measure: annualized revenue. In April, the company said its revenue run rate exceeded $30 billion while announcing additional computing capacity through Google and Broadcom. A run rate extrapolates a recent sales pace and is distinct from revenue earned during a completed quarter.

The investor meeting forms part of preparations for a potential initial public offering. The listing is reportedly expected after the November US midterm elections, although that timing remains unconfirmed. The offering would put the company’s growth and costly computing commitments before public-market investors.
