Cursor adds Gemini 4 Argon with a 52.8% CursorBench score

Cursor now offers Google's Gemini 4 Argon, charging $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.

Google DeepMind

Cursor has added Google’s Gemini 4 Argon to its coding environment. The model costs $2 for each million input tokens and $10 for each million output tokens, with usage charged to Cursor’s pool for third-party models.

At its default medium effort setting, Argon scored 52.8% on CursorBench 4.0, compared with 52.5% for Opus 5.5 at medium effort. The comparison depends on the selected setting: Opus 5.5 reached 57.8% at maximum effort, while Argon scored 52.9% at high effort. Cursor’s benchmark uses tasks drawn from actual sessions that involve ambiguity and changes across multiple files.

Argon can use Cursor’s agent capabilities, including editing files, running terminal commands and testing applications through a browser. Its four effort settings are minimal, low, medium and high. Developers can adjust those settings to allocate more reasoning to difficult coding work or prioritize speed on simpler tasks.
