OpenAI launches Decisions API as Uber expands workplace AI access
OpenAI made its Decisions API generally available, Uber expanded ChatGPT Work access, and Open Responses joined the Agentic AI Foundation.
OpenAI made its Decisions API generally available on October 22. The service uses GPT-6 Luna to classify information, select among predefined options and assign scores. OpenAI says these tasks can run up to 10 times faster than using the same model through its Responses API.
The release supports as many as 400 questions in a single request, doubling the beta limit. Other additions include integration with GPT-Live, caching for repeated context and regional processing in the United States and European Union. Standard input costs $0.10 per million tokens, with no charge for output tokens.
Separately, Uber began expanding ChatGPT Work access to more than 30,000 employees worldwide after a pilot involving 1,000 workers. OpenAI said Uber's engineers would continue using Codex for software development. The broader deployment covers work such as research, presentation preparation and data analysis.
Open Responses also joined the Agentic AI Foundation, bringing the specification under shared governance. The project defines a common format for communicating with language models and coordinating their use of tools. Its purpose is to reduce the changes developers need when moving applications between compatible providers.
Uber will support its deployment with employee training, approved integrations and an internal library of AI skills. Uber and OpenAI said they intend to share information about adoption, applications and measurable results as the rollout proceeds.
