OpenAI expands GPT-6 in ChatGPT with interactive answers

OpenAI began expanding GPT-6 access in ChatGPT on October 7 alongside Intelligent UI. The feature lets answers include interactive diagrams, charts and tools that work inside a conversation.

The global rollout started with Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise accounts, followed by Free and Go beginning October 8. The first group uses GPT-6 Sol, while Free and Go use GPT-6 Luna. Enterprise access remains subject to administrator settings.

The release follows the first paid GPT-6 offerings in September. ChatGPT can now start presenting an answer while reasoning continues, then add information as it becomes available. OpenAI said GPT-6 Instant began responding to questions requiring web searches an average of 44% sooner than GPT-5.6 Instant.

Intelligent UI can produce tools such as savings calculators and games, while retaining plain text when appropriate. OpenAI said it plans to broaden the interfaces ChatGPT can generate and improve its design decisions. The rollout applies to Chat; this release leaves the models used by Work and Codex unchanged.
