OpenAI opens Decisions API beta for classification and scoring
OpenAI's Decisions API uses GPT-6 Luna to evaluate text and images, returning probabilities, category choices or scores.
OpenAI has opened its Decisions API in public beta. The service evaluates text and images and returns structured decisions that applications can use to sort content, route requests or rank work.
GPT-6 Luna is the only supported model at launch. Developers can request a probability for a condition, select among predefined options or assign a score using specified criteria. Multiple independent questions can share the same input.
OpenAI says the service returns decisions roughly 10 times faster than its Responses API. Pricing starts at 10 cents per million input tokens, without output-token charges; regional processing and longer inputs can increase costs. The endpoint is designed for constrained answers, while written explanations and custom generated objects use other API features.
Developers can test questions in OpenAI's playground during the beta. The company expects general availability in the coming weeks but has not specified a date.
