Cursor opens beta API for managing cloud agent environments

Cursor's beta Environments API lets developers configure cloud agent workspaces, including repositories and setup instructions, through code.

Cursor

Cursor has made its Environments API available in beta, giving developers programmatic control over cloud agent workspaces. Developers can specify repositories and supply the environment.json configuration used to prepare those workspaces.

The documented operations include creating, listing, updating and deleting saved environments. Developers can also retrieve an environment's configuration, review its change history and inspect builds.

These environments provide the repository access and setup that cloud coding agents need to perform their work. The API makes those settings manageable through software alongside the agents themselves.

Cursor's documentation identifies the broader Cloud Agents API as a public beta and says its interfaces may change before general availability. Access requires an API key, with support for user and service account credentials.
