Nvidia highlights AI startups working on breast cancer imaging and treatment
Nvidia outlined how four startups use its technology to support breast imaging, risk assessment and treatment decisions, with some applications still investigational.

Nvidia highlighted four companies in its Inception startup program on October 5 that are developing AI applications for breast cancer care. Their work spans image collection, mammogram assessment and treatment planning.
iSono Health’s ATUSA system automates three-dimensional ultrasound imaging, with Nvidia describing scans lasting roughly two minutes for each breast. Whiterabbit.ai’s cleared WRDensity software assesses breast density using mammograms.
Ataraxis AI analyzes pathology images alongside clinical information to estimate treatment response and recurrence risk. SimBioSys creates three-dimensional views of tumors and surrounding tissue to support surgical planning.
Nvidia presented the applications as responses to imaging workloads and delays in obtaining information needed for treatment decisions. The overview covers separate products at different stages of development, and Nvidia acknowledged that some technologies remain investigational without FDA authorization for commercial use.
Further evaluation includes a 3,200-patient study of iSono Health’s platform, with UC Davis and Vanderbilt University Medical Center among the lead sites. iSono Health also plans to combine ultrasound findings with other imaging and clinical information.
