Pentagon uses five-minute video pitches to streamline AI procurement
The Pentagon's Tradewinds marketplace reviews short vendor videos to qualify AI products for a faster purchasing process.

The Pentagon is using short product videos to help move AI offerings into its purchasing pipeline through the Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace. The program operates under its Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office and gives qualifying submissions an awardable designation. Videos exceeding five minutes are excluded from assessment.
Each submission must present one solution and explain the problem it addresses. Reviewers assess technical merit, relevance to military needs and the clarity of the presentation. The assessment process includes technical experts and acquisition professionals.
The marketplace gives government buyers a searchable collection of offerings that have already passed a competitive assessment. That structure is intended to shorten the route from identifying a useful technology to arranging a purchase. An awardable designation makes a product available for consideration but does not itself secure funding.
Interested government customers can contact a supplier directly or work through the marketplace manager. Buyers may request demonstrations and additional information before negotiating an agreement with contracting support. Suppliers whose submissions fail assessment receive feedback and can submit again.
