Dario Amodei says company culture takes up to 40% of his time

Anthropic’s CEO says direct communication with employees is a major priority as the company grows and a possible public offering draws attention.

Anthropic

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said he devotes roughly one-third to 40% of his working time to maintaining the company’s culture. In a February interview, he described employee cooperation and shared purpose as central management responsibilities.

Amodei said he holds an hourlong company meeting every two weeks, using a short written document to discuss strategy, products and broader developments. He also answers employee questions through Slack and addresses concerns raised in internal surveys. The aim, he said, is to explain decisions directly and acknowledge problems openly.

He said Anthropic’s expansion had made it harder to participate in every model-training or product decision. His approach instead emphasizes helping employees understand the company’s direction and work together. Anthropic is reportedly considering a November IPO at a valuation potentially reaching $2 trillion; those terms remain unconfirmed.,
