NVIDIA outlines European public-sector AI projects using open models

European public agencies and technology partners are developing AI for government services, medical imaging and employment support using NVIDIA technology.

NVIDIA outlined public-sector AI projects across Europe that use its open models, software and computing infrastructure. The initiatives combine public-service applications with efforts to retain local control over sensitive information.

In Poland, Deloitte is helping develop employment-service tools intended for more than 400 labor offices. Separately, the country’s eHealth Centre is building a medical-imaging platform using NVIDIA DGX BasePOD and MONAI to support scan analysis and identification of urgent cases.

Deepset is expanding Haystack Enterprise Platform, which underpins the European Commission’s AI@EC system. The update adds tools for assessing answer quality, comparing costs and investigating problems. In France, a procurement framework makes a Twake.ai workspace available to more than 2,500 eligible public organizations.

Open models allow agencies to adapt systems for local languages and operate them on infrastructure under their control. The projects have different deployment stages, with several major systems still under development.

Upcoming work includes a German cloud offering being developed by secunet, NVIDIA, Red Hat and deepset for organizations handling classified information. NVIDIA also said localized synthetic-persona datasets are planned through work with partners in Poland and Slovenia.
