An October tally put Musk's election spending at $366 million as congressional oversight and federal spending remain important to Tesla and SpaceX.

Elon Musk had contributed roughly $366 million during the 2026 election cycle by an October 12 tally, backing Republican efforts to retain Congress. An America PAC spokesperson confirmed the spending breakdown, which covered the cycle beginning in January 2025.

At least $276 million of that amount came from contributions since July. Recipients included the Senate Leadership Fund, which received $158 million, America PAC with $76 million and the Congressional Leadership Fund with $20 million. The $366 million figure represents the earlier tally, rather than a verified total through Election Day.

The congressional races carry consequences for Musk's business interests. House Democrats have called for investigations into SpaceX's government contracts and his work leading the Department of Government Efficiency. SpaceX also has federal interests spanning NASA funding, defense procurement and military launches.

America PAC's disclosed campaign plans covered seven competitive states and nearly three dozen House contests. The coming election will determine congressional control, while subsequent disclosures will provide a fuller accounting of Musk's financial support.
