Amazon's Bee introduces Frontier wearable and Eclipse phone accessory

Bee's $74.99 Frontier is available now, while the $99.99 Eclipse will attach to a phone and summarize calls and in-person conversations.

Amazon-owned Bee has introduced two devices for turning spoken conversations into searchable notes and follow-up tasks. The lineup pairs Frontier, a wearable priced at $74.99, with Eclipse, a $99.99 accessory that attaches magnetically to a smartphone.,.

Frontier can be worn as a wristband or attached to clothing with an included clip. Bee lists dual microphones, IP67 water resistance and battery life of about seven days. A button controls listening, while an indicator light shows when the device is active..

Eclipse has a credit-card-shaped body measuring 4.6 millimeters thick and supports MagSafe attachment. Bee says it can process both participants' speech during phone calls when activated, as well as conversations held in person. The company lists battery life of three weeks..

Both products offer more than transcription through Bee's software, including summaries and suggested tasks. Some functions require Bee Pro, which costs $11.99 a month or $99.99 a year and includes Amazon shopping and Alexa connections. Bee says people who bought its earlier Pioneer device before October 15 will retain their existing features without paying..

Frontier is on sale through Amazon, while Eclipse remains listed as forthcoming. Bee has not provided a specific availability date for Eclipse on its main product listing..
