Pluto Security emerges from stealth with $42 million for enterprise AI security

Pluto Security announced $42 million in funding for tools designed to help companies oversee employees' use of AI.

Pluto Security publicly launched on October 13 with $42 million in funding. The company focuses on helping enterprise security teams manage risks as employees adopt AI tools and build their own software.

In its announcement, co-founder and CEO Shahar Bahat said Pluto protects more than 1.5 million endpoints across its business customers. The company also said its annual recurring revenue has reached several million dollars, without providing an exact figure.

Bahat described a workplace where employees increasingly combine AI agents, coding software, browser extensions and custom automation. Pluto's stated aim is to give security teams oversight of that activity while allowing employees to continue using the tools.

Pluto said the funding will support product development, security research and expansion in the United States. Its existing community work includes vulnerability research and freely available security resources under the Plutonium name.
