Ideogram launches its first vector model for editable SVG graphics

Ideogram's new vector model creates editable SVG artwork from text or existing images and is available through its platform and API.

Ideogram

Ideogram has introduced its first vector model, adding tools for creating editable SVG graphics. Called Ideogram Vector, it accepts written descriptions or converts existing images into vector artwork. The company says it is available through its platform and API.

The model supports designs with typography, illustrations and branding elements. Ideogram says users can change colors and modify individual shapes in a vector editor. Its API also accepts optional reference images when generating artwork from text.

The practical benefit is artwork that can be resized while retaining sharp edges and edited at the shape level. Ideogram presents the model for uses including printed merchandise, labels and logos. This extends its image-generation tools into workflows that require adjustable design files.

Developers can now integrate separate generation and image-conversion functions. Listed API prices start at 13 cents per generated SVG, while converting an existing image costs 10 cents. Higher-quality generation costs more, reaching 32 cents when reference images are included.
