Germany and Nvidia agreed on October 19 to deepen cooperation on artificial intelligence for industry. Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang discussed the initiative at an investment summit in Berlin. The agreement focuses on AI models for physical systems, including machines and robots.

Nvidia also announced planned investments in Agile Robots, Avelios Medical, Mirelo and Reflex Aerospace. Their businesses span robotics, hospital software, generated audio and satellites. Nvidia placed those plans within a broader European commitment approaching $10 billion.

The industrial initiative builds on Nvidia's existing relationships with German manufacturers and automotive companies. Merz encouraged smaller businesses to use their industrial data for AI applications. Huang said the technology could strengthen the engineering expertise those companies already possess.

The declaration calls for a joint effort to develop advanced physical AI models and encourage wider industrial adoption. Merz also proposed meeting Huang at least annually to assess progress.
