Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses drop the camera and start at $349
Meta's camera-free Ray-Ban glasses focus on music, calls and voice assistance, with a $349 starting price and claimed battery life of up to 12 hours.
Meta's Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses bring music, calls and voice assistance to frames without a camera. Announced in September with shipments scheduled for October 13, the glasses start at $349. The design removes photography and video capture from the experience.
The glasses weigh 43 grams and come in Clubmaster and Burbank styles, with 23 combinations of colors and lenses. Meta says the battery can last as long as 12 hours, while the charging case supplies another 48 hours. Both frame designs support prescription lenses.
The product retains audio functions while removing the ability to photograph or film nearby people. It also gives up camera-based AI assistance that interprets what the wearer sees. Calls, music and spoken questions remain central functions.
The Audio model joins a lineup that still includes camera-equipped glasses. Meta's third-generation Ray-Ban glasses start at $449 and carry a shorter advertised battery life of nine hours. The two products offer different combinations of recording capability, price and battery endurance.
