Blacksmith raises $66 million at $1 billion valuation in Sequoia-led round
Blacksmith secured $66 million in Series C funding to expand its software-testing infrastructure, bringing its valuation to $1 billion.
Blacksmith announced a $66 million Series C on October 21, with Sequoia Capital leading the investment. The financing values the software infrastructure company at $1 billion and brings its total funding to $125 million.
Premji Invest joined the round alongside returning investors GV, Y Combinator and Peak XV Partners. Blacksmith said weekly automated build and test jobs exceeded 90 million, compared with 5 million in January. Annual recurring revenue increased seventeenfold over that period, the company said.
Blacksmith supplies infrastructure for continuous integration, which checks software changes before developers combine them with existing code. CEO Aditya Jayaprakash said growing output from AI coding tools is putting pressure on companies' testing capacity. Blacksmith said its platform serves over 10,000 companies.
The funding will support hiring and additional computing capacity. Blacksmith said it currently manages slightly less than 10 megawatts across US and European data centers and aims to increase that footprint fivefold in 2027.
