Anthropic's quarterly revenue reportedly rises 45% to $16.8 billion

Anthropic reportedly shared $16.8 billion in third-quarter revenue with prospective investors as it prepares for a possible public offering.

Anthropic reportedly generated $16.8 billion in third-quarter revenue, an increase of about 45% over the preceding quarter. People who attended an October 14 investor gathering say executives presented the figures in San Francisco.

Attendees said the company also disclosed revenue of $11.6 billion for the second quarter and $4.7 billion for the first. Anthropic reportedly described the third quarter as profitable after adjustments, which does not establish profitability under standard accounting measures.

The reported figures show continued expansion, although growth slowed from the more than doubling recorded between the first two quarters. Anthropic, which develops Claude, is preparing to seek public investors while facing substantial spending requirements for AI development and computing capacity.

A stock market debut is reportedly expected after the November US midterm elections. The financial figures remain based on accounts of the private presentation rather than a public company earnings announcement.
