OpenClaw releases 2026.10.6 with startup, messaging and security fixes
OpenClaw’s latest patch addresses update failures, Windows startup problems and missing or duplicate replies, while requiring patched Node.js versions.
OpenClaw released version 2026.10.6 on October 22, addressing problems with installation, startup and message delivery. The project describes it as a maintenance update without new features.
The fixes cover Windows startup failures and iPhone Talk problems involving initial replies and connection timeouts. Other changes address lost or repeated messages across Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram and Slack. Recovery changes also help queued work and replies survive restarts.
The update also strengthens safeguards around migrations and backups, including checks that reject imports that could discard data. These changes address failures that can interrupt ongoing conversations or damage stored information.
Installation now requires Node.js 24.22.1 or later within version 24, or 26.12.1 or later within version 26. OpenClaw says those runtimes address compromised certificate keys. Its updater stops before installation on older runtimes and provides recovery instructions.
