Fal launches FLUX 3 Max with claim of 22-fold speed advantage over Seedance 2.5

Fal launched FLUX 3 Max on October 19, adding a video generation model developed with Black Forest Labs. The company says its testing shows roughly a 22-fold speed advantage over Seedance 2.5. The model builds on Black Forest Labs' FLUX 3 through additional training and changes to how it runs.

Fal's product page lists 12.45 seconds to produce a 10-second video, versus 277.80 seconds for Seedance 2.5. Its announcement gives a different FLUX 3 Max time of 10.95 seconds, so the published materials do not present one consistent latency figure. The speed comparison remains a company benchmark.

Fal also cites preliminary human preference testing that places the model among leading image-to-video systems. The company acknowledges overlapping confidence intervals among the highest-scoring models, which limits claims of a decisive quality lead. Its development work targeted visual detail, motion and adherence to prompts alongside faster generation.

Developers can access text-to-video and image-to-video generation through Fal's platform. The product page lists a discounted 720p rate of $0.0425 per output second until November 7, compared with a regular rate of $0.17. Fal says further training is underway to improve the model.
