Apple HomeView rumors pointed to a Siri hub with tabletop and wall options
Prelaunch claims described a voice-controlled HomeView hub with two designs and November shipping, ahead of Apple's October 13 announcement.
Apple was reportedly preparing to introduce a home hub called HomeView on October 13. Claims circulating on October 11 described a screen-based device built around Siri, with shipments expected around the middle of November.
The rumored hardware included an A18 processor and a choice between a tabletop speaker base and a wall-mounted design. Voice commands were said to be the main control method, alongside a touchscreen and selected Apple apps. The prelaunch account also suggested there would be no dedicated App Store.
Those claims described a dedicated household interface for Apple's assistant and services. They remained prelaunch assertions, rather than company specifications, when the original rumor appeared.
Apple subsequently announced HomeView on October 13, specifying a 7-inch display and a $299 starting price for either design. The company said orders would open that day, with availability beginning November 13. That announcement establishes the release schedule independently of the earlier rumors.
